DemFest w/ AFL-CIO
On March 23, 2024, the Colorado Democratic Party will host the 7th Annual Obama Gala and the first ever Colorado DemFest in Denver, Colorado! This year’s theme is a celebration of working people and the labor unions that built Colorado’s middle class.
This gala is one of the best opportunities to show your support in 2024. It is our biggest single fundraiser of the year, and we’re making some changes to make it an even more fun way to celebrate our Party and our diverse coalition!

Check out this Democratic Women of Boudler County Event!
Third Way is a national think tank in Washington that champions center-left ideas. They are known for their high-impact advocacy campaigns that combine rigorous policy research with a deep understanding of the vast American middle—where majorities and mandates are won. They are currently leading the fight to stop NO LABELS and third parties from putting Donald Trump back in the White House.
Our speakers will be Emily Cain and Kate deGruyter. Emily is their Senior Strategic Advisor helping coordinate and activate a broad coalition of groups to speak out about this threat. Kate deGruyter is shaping the messaging and media strategy for this campaign as the Senior Director of Communications for Third Way.

Boulder County Democratic Caucus
Caucus 2024 is In Person
This year's Caucus will be in person again. You can find your precinct number and location by visiting the Precinct Lookup tool (when info becomes available) at https://www.bocodems.org/caucus2024/
What will happen at the 2024 Caucus:
In 2024, Democratic Party Caucuses, across the state, will elect delegates to County Assembly based on a preference poll for the CU Regent-at-Large contest. Straw polls for other contests may also be held.
*If you want to vote for any of the county commissioner, District Attorney, state senator, or state rep candidates to get onto the Primary ballot, or be a delegate for the presidential candidate, you must get elected as a county delegate at your precinct caucus.*
How will Caucus work?
Precincts will meet at designated Supersites around Boulder County. You can learn your Supersite location via our Precinct lookup tool once the information is available.
At each Supersite, you will attend a larger meeting initially, where you will receive instructions about what will proceed, and possibly hear from candidates or their surrogates.
Following the large meeting, you will break up into the individual precinct caucus meetings where candidate threshold polls (do they have enough support to earn delegates), candidate preference polls (how many delegates they actually earn), delegate election (representation to County Assembly) will occur. Precinct Organizers will also be elected. These are volunteers are part of the Get Out the Vote process and are trained to run these caucus meetings, if elected as the Caucus Chair.

Save the Date: What's Caucus All About?
Join BoCo Young Dems on March 3rd to meet fellow young progressives in Boulder County and learn about the Caucus process. The next Caucus is on March 9th—hear how you can participate and make a difference in selecting local candidates!

Minimum Wage Coalition Meeting
Following the momentum last year with the Boulder County Commissioner's raising the minimum wage to $25/hr by 2030 in unincorporated Boulder County, we're gearing up to push more cities to follow the Commissioner's lead to pass minimum wage ordinances this year.
Coalition co-chairs, Meghan Carrier w/ Together Colorado and Alejandra Beatty, President of BALC, and I have started tracking positions, meeting with stakeholders, and strategizing ways for our coalition to engage.
As a reminder, right now, there is a multi-city led process in place to explore minimum wage increases across the County in the following cities: City of Boulder, Longmont, Louisville, Lafayette, and Erie. Since last year, we've been engaging in a process to map out the community engagement efforts and economic analysis. This work will take place throughout the spring and will wrap up around May. This includes a community-wide survey and listening sessions in each of the local governments which will be launched soon.
Please join the meeting on February 23rd from 2-3pm to hear more updates on the campaign, what's coming up, and how you can support.

Jovita Schiffer Petition Drive
From Jovita Schiffer:
While celebrating the life and service of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, I was reminded of his dream of the Beloved Community and how closely it aligns with our dreams for Boulder and Colorado. In the Beloved Community, people take care of each other, poverty, hunger, and homelessness are not tolerated, and racism is replaced by an all-inclusive spirit of sisterhood and brotherhood. This is the kind of community many of us dream of, and I am ready to do the work to get us there. But first, I need to get on the ballot.
Today I’m launching my petition drive to qualify for the ballot , so that you’ll have a progressive choice in the 2024 primary. We’ll have 2 months to collect 1000 valid signatures from registered Democrats in District 18, and it will take all of us to get there. Here’s how you can help…

Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom Rally
Boulder County Courthouse on Pearl St. Mall
Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl St., Downtown Boulder, Boulder, CO
This 2024 constitutional amendment will protect the right to reproductive rights from government interference in Colorado and ensure all Coloradans have access to critical reproductive care for years to come. We are rallying every registered voter in Colorado to sign the petition to ensure voters see this on their ballot in November.
We know that everyone deserves access to abortion care, but right now, so many groups aren’t guaranteed that vital coverage. Our ballot measure is committed to bridging the gap in abortion coverage for teachers, firefighters, public employees, and Coloradans covered by state insurance plans.

County Commissioner's Townhall
The Boulder County Commissioners announced in August that they will introduce a new hourly minimum wage in unincorporated Boulder County, which will see the county’s local minimum wage rise to 15% above Colorado’s 2023 minimum wage on Jan. 1, 2024. The move, which will bring the minimum wage to $15.69/hour, is being made in response to the needs of unincorporated Boulder County’s lowest paid workers in the face of the rising cost of living.
Through an online survey that closes Monday, October 16 at 12 noon, employers and workers are invited to share feedback with the commissioners on the county’s ongoing approach to wages in future years. The online survey is available in English and Spanish. Feedback will be shared with other local governments in Boulder County.

Boulder Progressives—Packet Assembly/Lit Drop
There will be a combined campaign literature drop with Boulder Progressives, Sierra Club, and Better Boulder. This is one of the BEST ways to support progressive candidates in Boulder for this year's election!
We have two tasks that will be a huge help this year:
1. Attend the lit coalition party in North Boulder on Saturday, October 14th. This will include making packets for BP endorsed candidates (mayor, council, school board) into the BP wrapper (includes material about all of the BP candidates and endorsed ballot measure positions) and organizing door pieces for Better Boulder and Sierra Club.
2. Starting the week of October 15th, Help us drop the lit pieces to 30,000 households in Boulder starting the following week.
Please sign up to help using the form below! The earlier you sign up, the better we can coordinate precinct assignments to meet everyone's requests:
